ALERT - Tax Preparers and AZ Form 8879
For TY2012, Arizona has discontinued the use of the AZ8453. Arizona still requires the use of the form AZ8879 if the practitioner PIN method is used or when the taxpayer authorizes the electronic return originator to enter or generate the taxpayer’s PIN on his or her e-filed individual income tax return. The taxpayer needs to sign the AZ8879 in order to comply with Arizona Administrative Code.
The prior notice dated February 5, 2013, incorrectly stated that the federal form 8879 could substitute for the Arizona form.
