Comment: Licensing is required for all users of radioactive materials not specifically exempt. Some licenses are general licenses and do not require an application although registration may be required. Registration is required for all x-ray machines and particle accelerators. Licensing is required for certain high power radio frequency devices, commercial tanning booths, and Class III(b) lasers.
