Comment: All hospitals and nursing care institutions are required to file their rates and charges for review by the department prior to implementation. Findings are issued which include:

How the rates and charges relate to the operating income and expenses of the institution

The source and application of funds available to the institution. The review process takes approximately 60 days.

Subject: Hospitals are required to submit audited financial statements 120 days following the end of the facility’s fiscal year.

Comment: Uniform Accounting Reports are required of hospices, hospitals and nursing care
institutions 120 days following the end of the facility’s fiscal year.

Subject: Hospitals over 50 licensed beds

Comment: Submission of data discharge information is required on a semi-annual basis (August 15, February 15). Data requirements are similar to UB-82 reports.
