Comment: Only those persons who have received, from the Accountancy Board, a certificate to practice as a certified public accountant or as a public accountant issued under the laws of this state shall be known as a "certified public accountant" or "public accountant." Persons certified by the Accountancy Board may use the abbreviation "CPA" or "PA" in accordance with the corresponding certificate.

Subject: Public Accounting Firms - CPA, PA

Comment: In addition, this board requires biennial registration of every certified public accountant, every public accountant, every partnership, every professional corporation and every professional limited liability company practicing accounting in this state in order to maintain membership with this board.
No professional corporation or partnership shall be permitted to practice public accounting in this state or use the "CPA" or "PA" designation unless or until the entity is properly registered with this board.
